I was thinking after I wrote that I would like show how I feel about the area that I live in.
I painted this series of paintings about four years ago. Watercolours
These are the six seasons of Kakadu.

Energy flows.
It is beauty and strngth and love.
I no longer have this picture. It went to a good home.
Pastel, monochromatic.
Banggerreng
marks the transition from the wet season to the dry season. The high water levels on the plains and in the rivers drop making it a good time for fishing. It is marked by periods of strong winds, dark storm clouds and heavy storms, as well as high temperatures and high humidity.
Gurrung
is the hot build up season, when both temperature and humidity increases. Both days and nights are hot and relief from the rain will not arrive until the rains begin.
Gunumeleng
heat and humidity continues, but it is also the time of the first rains. There are spectacular electrical storms with lightning flashing across the sky.
Wurrgeng
cool nights have finished but the days are still pleasant. The burning off commences for both clearing and hunting.
Yegge
is the cold weather time.The winds are from the south east and bring the cold air from the southern winter, there are clear blue skies and only very occasional showers mostly in costal areas.
Gudjeuk
the monsoon season. It just rains and rains and rains. The wind and the weather come from the north west and there are periods of grey clouds overcast skies and cooler temperatures. This provides great relief after the months of heat and humidity of the build up of the previous month Kurrung
Energy
the flow of energy....
